Work with us

Undergraduate opportunities

We offer project places on diverse topics within human appetite including nutrition, physical activity, eating pathology, physiological and psychological influences on eating behaviour. If you are interested in undertaking a research project in a particular area, please do contact us via the contact us page.

Masters degrees opportunities

For individuals undertaking a masters, we offer research project opportunities for students as part of the MSc Psychological Approaches to Health and MPsyc, BSc and Psychology Degrees. We also offer opportunities for individuals wishing to complete a Masters by Research. An MRes gives you the opportunity to experience research within one year full time (or two years part time) and to present a thesis, so it can be the perfect spring board for a PhD programme. If you are interested in undertaking a research project, please do contact us via the contact us page.

Postgraduate Research degrees

Undertaking a research degree is both enormously challenging and rewarding, so it's important for you to choose a research topic you're passionate about. A full-time doctorate normally takes 3 years and part-time around 6 years. We offer a range of funding opportunities, which are advertised externally, and support self-funded students. In our group we offer a supportive academic environment where you'll receive training and development tailored to you. If you are interested in undertaking a PhD, please do contact us via the contact us page.

International Opportunities

We have a number of international opportunities on offer within the research group. Firstly, we host international placement students and visiting researchers giving support in designing and conducting their own independent projects or assisting in our ongoing research. Through our network of international collaborations and colleagues we can help identify placement opportunities for undergraduate students during the summer or as part of the BSc International and BSc Industrial degree programmes. If you are interested in finding out more, please do contact us via the contact us page.
